Mother’s Day Vinyl Decals To Make And Sell

I have been really enjoying creating decal guides for you all lately, so I thought it was about time that I put one together for Mother’s Day!

Do check out some of my previous posts for Easter, Halloween, Valentines Day and more if you need some inspiration for other holidays.

So here are just a few decal ideas that you can either make, sell or both this Mother’s Day.

Don’t forget, if you’re selling, to target all spellings plus grandmas, great-grandmas, mother in-laws, stepmothers, adopted mothers, mums plural, pet moms, and any other alternative you can think of.

Flower Pot/Vase

Flowers are great, and are a classic Mother’s Day staple, but why not give them something that they can keep for much longer, and make or sell quotes or names that are suitable for plant pots and/or vases.

These are really easy to showcase too, either by making your own example or there are quite a few blank plant pot and vase pictures on Canva that you can use as mock-ups too.

Bath Caddy Decals

This is such a popular present so if it’s something they have been given in the past, then maybe it’s time to personalize it! I’m thinking the smooth, painted wood bath caddies would be best for this. Just make sure to pass on the message that the vinyl ideally needs to be left to cure for 72 hours before getting it wet.

If you’re selling them, you could even see if you could partner up with another small business that is selling the caddies, and then you can promote them and vice versa.

Names For Frames

I love using decals on frames to make them a bit more custom and special, and the best thing about them is that they can be removed and then the frames can be re-used for future occasions or when you want to change the photo and the message.

Just make sure that if you’re selling them you’re making dimensions clear so people know whether they will fit on their frames or not.

Scrapbook Decals

I’ve definitely mentioned this one before but that’s because I think it is such a thoughtful gift, and blank scrapbooks are so easy to find online or in stationery and craft stores! You can add a custom message or name to the front, and then it can be filled full of memories or can be left blank to record future experiences.

This is especially perfect for a new mum or a new grandma in particular so they can add lots of photos in there with the new baby.

Glass decals (rebrand them for Mother’s Day)

If you already sell name labels for cups and glasses, then be sure to create a new listing or edit your existing one to promote them as Mother’s Day decals specifically, so that anyone looking for ideas will come across them.

And again, don’t just go for generic Mother’s Day designs, try out designs for the whole spectrum of mothers and mother-like figures so that you’re competing against less sellers and have more chance of standing out.

Plaque/Sign Decals

There are a lot of matriarchs out there that love a good inspirational sign and there are so many good quotes and designs out there to choose from that will be great to keep up in the home all year, not just on Mother’s Day. Check out Design Bundles for lots of pre-made quotes and designs, or if you need some good mock-up files to show off your own design.

Some of them, in particular one line designs, would also look great as mirror decals as well!

DIY Decal Kit

Then for the crafty mama who loves to make everything themselves, why not put together a decal kit that they can use to make things with themselves. This could be a scrapbooking kit, a sheet of organization labels for their home office or their toiletries, a sheet of names of plants for the garden so that they can make their own pot labels… The possibilities are endless when it comes to Mothers that love to craft!

Iron ons…

If you sell HTV then you have even more choice… think cute design decals for cushions, tote bags, make up bags, pyjamas, blankets, pot holders, slippers and so much more.

As always just make sure you’re giving very clear application instructions - I have printable ones for sale on Etsy if you need some.

As always don’t forget to check out lots of the design sites like Creative Fabrica and Creative Market and Pinterest for even more inspiration.

Hope you found that helpful, do let me know what you will be making and selling this mothers day in the comments!
