8 Vinyl Decals To Sell This Christmas

There are SO many vinyl decals you can make and sell at Christmas, so I thought I would just share a few with you in this post so you can get some inspiration, and get crafty this festive season! All of these should be pretty easy for customers to apply so they would be great items to add to your shop this Xmas.

Or take a look below…

  1. Christmas Eve Boxes/Bags

These seem to become more and more popular every year, especially if people split time between families or only see certain family members on Christmas eve. Whether they want to make a crate or a bag or a box or something completely unique, it’s something your customers can personalise and use every year to give their xmas eve gifts in.

2. Santa plates/Milk Bottles & Santa Stop Here Signs

Then speaking of Christmas eve, Santa needs to know where to stop and then where to find his treats once he’s inside! So creating decals for Santa stop here signs, and then also for Santa plates, milk bottles or something for Rudolph is the perfect thing to capture little imaginations. Especially if you already sell a lot of child-related items and lots of your customers are parents..

The only thing you need to be aware of is that vinyl isn’t usually food safe so you may want to make a note that adding vinyl to plates is recommended for decorative use only.

3. Iron Ons For Stockings

One of my favourite things about Christmas morning is opening my stocking. Yes, I still get a stocking off my parents in my 30s!

So that just proves that this is a special something that loved ones can keep for years, and it’s all the more special if it’s personalised. Plus, it means no one ends up with the wrong gifts, and that only the naughty people end up with coal in theirs! So iron-on stocking decals are the perfect solution to that to make sure they don’t get mixed up!

4. Bauble Decals

Bauble and tree decoration decals are super easy to make and you can create so many variations. Either do simple names, something to mark an occasion like ‘First Christmas as Mr and Mrs’ or ‘First Christmas in our New Home’, Christmas characters or just a fun/cute festive quote. I have some SVG designs on my Vinyl Decal School Etsy for baubles if you need some inspiration, or want some designs to sell as decals.

You may also just need to make sure you have some good instructions though, as curved baubles can be a bit tricky to apply to - I actually have a tutorial here if you need one…

5. Window/Door Decals

I mentioned this in my Halloween video too, but window cling is the perfect solution for holiday decorations as it can be applied and removed so easily.

This should also be the case for removable vinyl too. And again you can have so much fun coming up with different designs and themes and maybe take custom requests if your customers have specific looks they want to achieve.

6. Christmas Sweater/PJ/Shirt Decals

Ugly christmas sweaters seem to have become the norm now! So much so that I tend to see the same ones pop up in stores every year, so why not see if you can out-do those ones with some cheesy designs of your own? Customers can iron them onto their own jumpers or t-shirts and be the envy of all of their colleagues.

Or alternatively, go for cute or funny quotes or designs that can be ironed on to pyjama tops, especially if you can think of complimentary designs for all of the family to wear at the same time.

7. Elf On The Shelf Decals

I’m not sure how parents come up with all of the different Elf on the shelf ideas that I see every year, some people get so creative! They must be running out by now though so I’m sure they could use some help to go that extra mile for their kids using your decals. From something as simple as an elf spy cam, to some naughty elf footsteps or a whole elf on the shelf decal kit with lots of different ideas.

8. Gift Wrap

People may not be willing to pay you to personalise gift wrap that is just going to be ripped open and then binned on Christmas morning, but if you can provide names for wooden or perspex tags, or customised gift boxes that can be re-used then that’s a different story.

You could also offer sheets of Christmas shapes for people to add to their gift wrapping if people do want a more temporary fix.

Whatever you offer, I think it really helps when you can give customers an idea of what they could create with your decals, rather than just giving them the option of ordering some names in a pretty font.

And that’s just some of the ideas you can do! If you buy your designs ready-made usually, don’t forget to check out places like Design Bundles to see what they have on offer ahead of time and to get some inspiration.

For example at the moment they have this mega Christmas craft bundle above for just $19 (at the time of writing) - click above to see how much is included and see all of the decals and other crafts you could create with that many designs at your fingertips!!

If you’re not quite ready for Xmas crafting yet though and you need some inspiration for Halloween decals to make and sell instead, check out this post below…

And let me know in the comments which decals you’re going to be selling this Christmas and if you have any questions…
